Started as receptionist checking customers in for service, setting appointments and answering the phones. After training, I was promoted to Tax Preparer. My responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses
  • Computing taxes owed or overpaid utilizing computers and completing entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables.
  • Submiting federal and state returns on behalf of customers in a timely manner.
  • Checking data input or verifying totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
  • Calculating form preparation fees according to return complexity and processing time required.

This is a seasonal position - January - April and on-call the rest of the year.
